Hi everyone – thanks for finding the website. This is the first of the “news” items on our new site, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and to tell you about some things that are happening with us this year. It’s been a great year for us, with some interesting developments on the horizon, and lots of things to celebrate.
Our album “The Junction” that we finished in the Summer of last year, is selling extremely well, and we’ve had lots of radio airplay of some of the tracks too. Many thanks for your support on that. The new album, which will be called “People are alike all over” is underway now, and we are very hopeful that it will be ready for this Summer’s festival season....you’ll be hearing some of the songs from the new album in the latest gigs, so look out for those when you see us.
Darryl Thomas, our drummer from 2012, is back with us permanently now, which is great news, as he is a Jedi on the drums, and a lovely bloke, so that was a very welcome development this year.
As far as the gigs go, this Summer we have lots of great festivals to look forward to, like Wickham Festival, Gosfest, Something Else in the Dean, Something Else Up North, Watchet Festival and Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival.
Before that properly gets under way, we have our next Bemis and Friends night. Sadly it will be the last one at the Cellars, a venue that has been incredibly important in our journey through the years, so we’re pleased we managed to get on the bill during the last month, but enormously sad that we’re losing it. It’s going to be a cracking night though, with Davey Malone from Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, and William Harper from Hobo Jones being the main support acts, with a few guests lined up like our mate Skeg. There’ll be familiar songs, new songs, singalongs and probably some biscuits. That’s on July 4th – come along and say “so long” to the Cellars with us.
We’ve got some more news to share with you, that we’re just finalising now, but in the mean time, keep spreading the word and coming to the gigs – we’re bound to be playing at a town near you soon....come along and join in.
